To me, there are no struggles.

The university I study at provides opportunities to its students by having professors who are knowledgeable and experienced in their fields. Many have worked professionally before and now teach the future generation of workers, which I am a part of.

DMU Review

(5)·By Manpreet K·Biology· Jun 2026
De Montfort University is a practical and career-focused university. The teaching is industry-oriented, with a strong emphasis on coursework, lab skills, and real-world application rather than just theory. The campus is modern, compact, and well equipped, especially for science and health courses. Lecturers are approachable and supportive, and there is good academic guidance if you engage. DMU also offers strong student support services and a diverse student community. De Montfort University offers a practical, career-focused learning environment with supportive lecturers. The campus is compact and centrally located, making commuting easy. Courses emphasize hands-on skills and coursework rather than just theory. Student life is diverse, with social and cultural activities available if you choose to engage.

DMU offers a strong mix of study, support, and student life.

(5)·By Sohail K·Civil Engineering· Jun 2026
Student life at DMU is lively and supportive, with excellent facilities such as the library, labs, and modern study spaces. My Engineering Management course balances technical engineering skills with business and leadership, which is very useful for real-world careers.

The commute is easy because the campus is central and well connected, and accommodation is affordable with good on-campus options. The social scene is active with societies and events, though some facilities could stay open later.

DMU Review

(5)·By Farhan A·Accounting· Jun 2026
De Montfort University is a major public university based in Leicester. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, foundation, and part-time courses across subjects such as business, law, art and design, computing, health and life sciences, and engineering. DMU has earned recognition for teaching quality, student satisfaction, and graduate employability in various rankings and awards. Students come from over 100 countries. There is a strong focus on career readiness, with placements and internships included in many courses. The IBM course at DMU offers a good mix of practical and theoretical learning. The modules are relevant to current industry trends, especially in areas like cloud computing and data analysis. Lecturers are generally supportive and knowledgeable, and some sessions are very engaging. I've been struggling a bit with the commute and accommodation while studying on the IBM course at DMU. Commuting can be tiring, especially on days with early lectures or a long timetable, and it sometimes affects focus and energy levels. If you live further away, travel costs and time can add extra pressure. Accommodation can also be quite expensive, and finding something affordable and close to campus isn't always easy. Some housing options are good, but overall the cost of living can feel high for students. The social scene is decent, with societies and events happening throughout the year. However, if you commute or don't live in student accommodation, it can be harder to feel fully involved or build strong connections.
