Law with Foundation Year LLB (Hons)

Overview
If you want to start your career as a barrister, solicitor, or as another role within the legal system, this is the place to start. Studying with a foundation year is the perfect option if you dont meet the entry requirements, have taken a break from study, or want extra support to get uni-ready.

Youll study for one year through ICP, right here on campus. Youll get the knowledge and academic skills needed to take on a bachelors degree, learning how to analyse information, do research, and improve your academic writing.

The skills youll learn will help you work in teams as well as on your own in culturally diverse workplaces. Youll develop your understanding of new workplaces and environments, and how to adapt to new environments.

When youve finished, youll be ready to move onto the first year of LLB (Hons) Law.

Once you’ve successfully completed your foundation year, youll be ready to progress onto LLB (Hons) Law with a guaranteed place.

Careers and opportunities
After youve transferred to LLB (Hons) Law and completed your degree, when you graduate youll be ready to take your next step to train as a solicitor, a barrister or a Chartered Legal Executive. Its worth noting that Chartered Legal Executives can now become judges, coroners, advocates and partners in law firms.

Some of our graduates go on to secure training contracts, but others choose to go into different professions. Law degrees are in the top 10 degrees for employability, as youll graduate with a wide range of transferable skills that will make you very employable across a range of other sectors.
