<strong>Course Overview</strong><br/><br/>On our Neuroscience (with Foundation Year) course you’ll take a multidisciplinary approach to studying how the brain and nervous system work. You’ll receive a solid foundation in science as you develop your knowledge of how we understand and treat neurological disorders and diseases.<br/><br/><strong>Why study with us</strong><br/><br/><br/>• The foundation year will provide you with an interesting and stimulating grounding in science.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• The course will enable you to gain key practical skills in our modern, spacious and well-equipped laboratory facilities.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You’ll learn how the brain and nervous system work to alter behaviour, perception, mood and memory.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>What youll do</strong><br/><br/><br/>• Enhance your practical skills with a variety of hands-on Biology and Chemistry laboratory sessions and Physics workshops.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Neuroscience is literally the science of the brain and you’ll develop knowledge from a wide range of disciplines including biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology and psychology.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• You can use this foundation year as an opportunity to get to know other foundation students on different science-based degree programmes.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Future Careers</strong><br/><br/>Our Neuroscience Foundation Year degree could lead to a career in science teaching, science writing, research and lab work. You could also end up working in labs and rehabilitation centres or pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry or hospitals. Or you may want to train as a science teacher or continue studying this fascinating subject.
