This Foundation Year in Clinical Technology is designed to prepare you for degree-level study in clinical technology and healthcare engineering. It provides a supportive entry point if you do not yet meet the requirements for direct entry onto a degree, or if you are returning to study.<br/><br/>During the year, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to understand how engineering and technology are applied within healthcare. You will explore how mathematical, physical and computational principles underpin modern technologies used in clinical and medical environments.<br/><br/>You will build a strong foundation in core technical subjects, including mathematics, physics, materials and computing, while developing essential academic and professional skills such as communication, problem-solving and independent learning. Through project work and practical activities, you will begin to analyse technical problems, work with data and develop your skills in design and visualisation.<br/><br/>Successful completion of the Foundation Year allows you to progress onto the Clinical Technology BSc (Hons), where you will develop specialist knowledge and skills in areas such as medical devices, physiological measurement and healthcare technologies.
