Spanish with Linguistics Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) - BA (Hons)

BA (Hons) Spanish and Linguistics is a dynamic course designed for students who are passionate about language – how it works, how it’s used, and how it shapes our world. You’ll study Spanish, one of the most widely spoken languages across Europe and the Americas, while also exploring linguistics, the scientific study of language, communication and meaning. From understanding how languages evolve to exploring how they’re structured and learned, you’ll develop a strong theoretical and practical foundation in both areas. 

You’ll be part of a multicultural learning community, surrounded by academics, international students and exchange students who use Spanish every day in real contexts. This environment helps bring Spanish to life and builds your confidence as a communicator. At the same time, your linguistics learning will introduce you to areas such as phonetics, grammar, language acquisition, and applied linguistics, with examples drawn from English and other languages.
