If you’re interested in global issues and business strategy, and curious about how economic forces influence everyday life, our Economics and Management degree has been designed for you.
You’ll gain an understanding of how economic reasoning informs critical business strategy while also learning how firms and organisations operate and adapt to change – critical skills in the global business environment.
You don’t need an advanced maths background to succeed. We’ll work together to develop your economic literacy and confidence in thinking critically, interpreting information, and applying ideas to real-world situations. You’ll explore core business concepts such as competition, pricing, market power, consumer behaviour, inflation, growth, and policy uncertainty.
With your future career in mind, a strong focus on employability, entrepreneurship and applied decision making is embedded throughout. You’ll engage with real-world case studies that place economics within the wider management and business context, giving you an interdisciplinary perspective on the economic and organisational challenges faced by businesses, policymakers, and society.
In year 3 you’ll step out of the classroom and into the real world with your Professional Placement Year - a paid role to complement your academic study and further boost your employability prospects. The Professional Placement Year is a great opportunity to put the knowledge you’ve gained into practice: you’ll tackle real business challenges, gain hands-on experience, and build the kind of skills employers are actively looking for.
As an Economics and Management (BSc) graduate, you’ll be well placed for careers in consultancy, management, market and business analysis, marketing, economic and policy analysis, and roles in the public and third sectors, as well as for further postgraduate study.
